New Data Ethics Playbook case study

Dan Hughes

Following the launch of the RED Foundation Data Ethics playbook, we are producing case studies to show the playbook in practice. Here, we take a look at Brent Council’s IoT for Damp and Mould pilot.

As part of the exploration of the capability of the Internet of Things (IoT), Brent Council partnered with Bosch and Vericon to pilot the use of sensors to measure environmental factors that may lead to damp and mould within social housing properties. The pilot commenced in April 2022 for six months, however this was extended to a year as the pilot had capacity to be deployed to additional properties. The sensors are installed across a variety of premises to ensure the sensors are being tested in different scenarios.
